Psalms 136 states: “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. His love endures forever.”

The Lord has been good to the band department over these past few years. He continues to provide students who wish to learn how to play an instrument though our Red Knight Band Program or Beginning Drumline class. He continues to encourage those students to stay on in band after learning an instrument and play on through their high school career. The Lord continues to provide our students opportunities to travel twice in their high school career and make a joyful noise in locations like Orlando, Florida; Houston and San Antonio, Texas; and New Orleans, Louisiana. The students also have the opportunity to perform concerts here at Milwaukee Lutheran High School three times a year.

An old familiar saying is, “It takes a village to raise a child.” We see the value in a “village,” with the talents and resources of many, coming together to teach a child and lead a child in the way that honors the Lord. Your donation to support our program will help to provide the students of Milwaukee Lutheran’s band program with equipment that will enhance our ability to maintain a strong music program by:

- Additional mouth pieces for brass and woodwind instruments
- Clarinet, Saxophone, Oboe, and Bassoon reeds
- P
urchase Oboes

Our drumline attracts a number of new students each year who would otherwise not join a music program. While they are learning percussion, their knowledge of, and appreciation for, a variety of musical genres is developing. Aside from additional drum equipment, items needed to continue building our percussion section include:

- Stadium stands
- A vibraphone

Raising funds for our biennial band tour is an ongoing activity. For some of our students, an opportunity to travel and play their instrument is an extraordinary experience they would not otherwise have.

One of our core values is to GROW! Our students work hard to GROW every day in the band room. Some days are better than others. However, participation in band is an excellent example of what it means to be a Christian in today’s world.  We GROW in Christ each and every day, especially on the hard days.

We hope you can attend our concerts and witness the growth of our students, from beginning band to symphonic band. Your financial support is important in helping us ensure our students can continue to grow in their musical talents.

No matter your financial situation, and the amount you can contribute, your gift to the band program is greatly appreciated. This is an opportunity for alumni, parents, and community leaders like you to help ensure our program can continue to help our students grow and learn musical skills.

As you consider a supporting gift, we want to thank you for being a blessing to our students – financially or through prayers. We in the Milwaukee Lutheran Band Program are grateful for you!

In Christ,

Christopher R. Marshall
