Lake Country Lutheran High School 2023-2024

Girls Basketball

Lightning girls’ basketball strives to help our student-athletes grow academically, physically, and spiritually.  The life skills taught throughout the basketball season will last long after their playing days are over. To ensure these exceptional experiences for our basketball team, we are asking for your support.  Why?

Our Vision Statement says we will “ensure Exceptional Experiences” in athletics.  It is a bold statement that we strive to reach every day.  You may not live close enough to support us in attending our basketball games, but your financial support is essential in helping us achieve that exceptional experience we desire for our program.

This is a great opportunity for alumni, parents, and community members like you to help strengthen our program by providing the necessary funding to ensure an exceptional experience for our athletes.  All gifts, at any giving level, are appreciated and get us one step closer to our vision!

Your gift will not only provide general financial support for our program but help us secure a Smart TV and cart for film sessions.

“The 2022-2023 Lightning Girls basketball season saw the program once again reach new heights, securing the team’s third straight MCC Conference championship. In a year full of adversity, the girls’ strong sense of unity combined with their focus on the team theme of ‘Credo’ (Latin for ‘I believe’) kept the team firmly rooted Christ.

Our program is continuing to grow and build on the success and efforts of the past. Our culture remains central to who we are and drives us to pursue our goals. As we enter the 2023-24 season, we focus on the word ‘Agape,’ one of the three types of love St. Paul discusses in his epistles. Agape refers to an unselfish, sacrificial love, one that harkens back to the ultimate sacrifice Christ made for each of us. In his famed “love chapter” of 1 Corinthians 13, Paul outlines the different characteristics that love exemplifies (i.e. love is patient, love is kind, etc.). Paul’s words explain exactly what it means to love and be loved… to put another before oneself unselfishly. Throughout the season, our program will explore what Agape looks like on and off the court. We believe that love will bind us together and permeate all aspects of this program.

The LCL Girls Basketball program continues to grow! With three Thunder youth teams playing together in the winter and summer seasons, the future remains bright. We are excited to welcome a large class of incoming freshmen to Lightning basketball family as well this school year. I remain humbled by the support of our family and friends and I truly believe that one of the greatest gifts in life is to be a part of something that is bigger than oneself. LCL certainly is that!

I want to thank you for being a part of and supporting this basketball family and the girls and their endeavors. If you would like to support us financially, consider making a gift below. Thank you for your continued support of the girls and their pursuits!  Agape!”
